Modeling Jesus’ foster father, the St. Joseph Ministry strives to raise awareness and increase support of youth in foster care or living with a relative. This ministry was developed by the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops and is being implemented in our parish and the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston this year.
There are approximately 1,700 foster children in our archdiocese and roughly 100-200 foster children in Galveston County at a time. In addition, there are children living with a relative that is not their biological parent. There are multiple ways to provide a community of support to these vulnerable children and their foster or kinship families. The Archdiocese has created a survey to evaluate foster/kinship family needs (confidential section) and identify those willing to help (contact information requested).
Thank you in advance for completing the survey that will help us grow this ministry. Email [email protected] with questions.
